The Astral Layla PFD was inspired by the Lola PFD, a classic vest designed by Astral’s founder nearly 20 years ago. It incorporates a feminine specific fit, princess seams, and super soft organic Kapok flotation. This is a great women’s-specific PFD that excels in any condition, from whitewater to flatwater touring.

What is Kapok? Astral’s Kapok comes from the Ceiba tree, which is native to Central and South America. Think of it like buoyant down material – it can be manipulated and moved around better than any other flotation material. Kapok allows for a more 3-dimensional fit.
